Quranic Duas & Wazaif
"I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan."
— Quran
In-Depth Explanation
Whispers (waswasay) come from Shaytan. They attack faith, wudu, prayer, and every act of worship.
The Prophet ﷺ taught a complete solution: say 'A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajeem' and keep going with your action — do not pay attention to the doubt.
Proof from the Quran
Allah's own words on this matter, with scholarly explanation.
"Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, King of mankind, God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer."
— Surah An-Nas 114:1-4
"If an evil suggestion from Shaytan comes to you, seek refuge in Allah — He is the Hearing, the Knowing."
— Surah Fussilat 41:36
Proof from Authentic Hadith
Narrations from the Prophet ﷺ on this subject.
"Shaytan comes to one of you and asks: Who created this? Who created that? — until he says: Who created your Lord? When he reaches that, let him seek refuge in Allah and stop."
— Sahih Al-Bukhari 3276
"When one of you feels something in his stomach and is unsure whether wind passed or not, he should not leave the mosque until he hears a sound or smells an odour."
— Sahih Muslim 362
