Proof from the Quran

Allah's own words on this matter, with scholarly explanation.

"Those who believe and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah — verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."

Surah Ar-Ra'd 13:28

Explanation: The remembrance of Allah is the real source of peace.

"And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers."

Surah Al-Isra 17:82

Explanation: The Quran itself is healing for the soul and the heart.

Proof from Authentic Hadith

Narrations from the Prophet ﷺ on this subject.

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debt and being overpowered by men."

Sahih Al-Bukhari 6369

Explanation: A special dua of the Prophet ﷺ for when the heart feels heavy.

"No one is ever afflicted with worry or grief and says (this dua) except that Allah removes his worry and grief."
